“EVERYONE THINKS OF CHANGING THE WORLD BUT NO ONE THINKS OF CHANGING THEMSELVES.”
Having worked with children for much of my career, I began to focus on work-life balance with adults after realizing that helping parents with their own issues was often the best way to treat their children. I learned that when adults recognize that their value as a person is not determined by their productivity, they begin to recognize the harm in putting pressure on their children to be perfect, they model healthier behavior, and they free up the psychological recourses they need to become more supportive parents. This balance, which comes from accepting our own worth, is something I now endeavor to help everyone find within themselves, whether they are children or adults, educators or tech professionals, parents or child-free.
